TRIUMPHANT RETURN FOR KATA SQUAD!!!
SSK's Kata Squad has yet another successful trip to Wolverhampton at the English Open Kata Championships on Sunday 13th November!
The four person squad came away with a haul of medals and trophies, after a long day of competing against the country's elite Kata performers.
Robert Oakley came third in his individual event, despite being one of the youngest competitors in the category.
James Frazier cruised to second place for his third medal in three competitions this year.
Steve Garland won a well deserved Bronze in the Veterans event.
The pairing of Robert and Sensei Davies proved to be, yet again, a successful one, bringing home a Silver in the adult and child category.
Sensei Davies also bagged himself a Bronze in his indiviudal Kata.
Finally, Sensei Davies and pairs Kata partner Matt Russell were once again on top bringing home the gold, to finish the year undefeated. This recent win, now extends there unbeaten streak to over 2 years.
MORE MEDALS FOR SSK!!!
A small squad of 5 competitors represented SSK at the recent Central Region Kata Championships in Birmingham.
Robert Oakley started off the day with a bronze. James Frazier won his second gold of the year, in only his second ever competition. Peter Bonser earned himself a bronze in the same event that Sensei Davies came away with the gold.
Well Done SSK Squad - 2 Golds and 2 Bronzes!!!

PETE WINS EPIC FINAL TO BRING BACK THE GOLD!!!
SSK Black Belt Peter Bonser may have been our only representative at the Wantage Shotokan Championships in Oxon on Sunday 9th October, but he did not disappoint.
Pete started by coming 2nd in the individual Kata, only the follow that by winning the final of the individual Kumite. The bout went to sudden death after a 12-12 draw, which he won in spectacular fashion. His Jodan Mawashi Geri also won him the technique of the day award!
Well Done Pete - 1 Gold and 1 Silver
